How To Upgrade From Windows 7 Home Premium To Ultimate?

Can this be done? I know you can upgrade from Vista to 7 Ultimate, but I’m interesting in buying a PC that comes with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. Will I be able to upgrade this to Ultimate if I want? Thanks!

Windows Ultimate editions runs only on 64 bit PCs. Check on that first, if your PC is 64 bit then definitely yes.
My suggestion is that when you have already decided to buy a new PC why not buy directly with Ultimate edition.

  2. Yes, you can do an “Anytime Upgrade” to the Ultimate version if you want.
(And the prior answer is wrong. Ultimate comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.)
If you’re buying a computer with Home Premium installed, you might want to check if you can get Ultimate done instead right from the start.
Otherwise just do the Anytime Upgrade thing.
