Windows 7 Review – It’s Time To Get Familiar – Will You skip Vista SP2?I’ve got 2 PCs running Windows 7. They are very different computers in that one is kind of five years old and one is positively cutting edge with all the latest graphics cards, for example. Both run Windows 7 very well and without any errors. The new Windows 7 Aero theme is pretty and better organized and intuitive than Windows Vista Aero. An example mouse gesture that I use is to shake the mouse forwards and backwards like you are scratching something off a list. This immediately clears the desktop by hiding all the open windows. The new interface also enables you to click the thumbnails of the programs that are running. I am still concerned about compatibility issues, but even the few games I’ve run have been no problem for Windows seven. Even the latest Fallout three ran flawlessly. Given that a Windows 7 will be readily downloadable in the future and given the clear quality of the release surpasses that of the release exceeds that of Vista ask who will trouble to ask who will trouble to upgrade to Vista SP2?In addition to frame rate rises in games, the web connection scores just about 10% higher throughput. On our 1GB connections, the difference is even more obvious. Even if you don’t have machine to test Microsoft Microsoft Windows 7 on, you may use Vmware’s free desktop virtualization software to line up and start exploring. It’s coming fairly soon. It may be good and if you’re employed in a corporate IT dept, you may have to support it. To line up Windows 7 on Vmware, just tell vmware that you’re going to be using Vista. It essentially looks like the Windows Vista installer with upgraded graphics. Like all new Windows releases, Microsoft has attempted to appeal to users on the present platform. The result’s that there’s going on under the hood that has changed but that you won’t see until you’re in a support situation and realize that some of your tried and tested debugging methods no longer work. Conclusion:I think it’s wise to begin to support windows 7 now, especially if you’ve been holding off corporate users waiting for a better version of Vista. If you have applications that have to be tested on Windows 7, the time to start that is now. Developers should have their beta copy very shortly.Amazon.com is running a special on Windows 7 Pre Orders until July 11. You get at least 50% off either the Home Premium or Professional version while supplies last..

Windows 7 comes with really charming features. One of them is, bundled ISO to CD burner, from now on you will be able to write CD’s from ISO images in Windows 7 without any 3th party software like Deepburner. Or you can download and try another video editing software from Acme Files.
If you do your job on computer and if you switch between them, that’s generally brings a confusing computer along with. Windows 7 has comfortable features about file changes. The library which is like Vista’s documents will be one of the most useful feature on Windows 7. Also there are features which provides preview for switching between open applications . So we may say that it’s a upgraded version of the system which has been in Vista before. The preview feature also works when we move mouse over to application or file on taskbar. But, differently from Vista, it is more advanced. Windows 7 also comes with a pretty advanced file and directory search feature, it brings suggestion feature and shows results while you’re typing on search box. Also you’re able to preview directories on search results without opening them. Hint: You can use Google Desktop if you want file and directory search feature on your present system.
One of the most important complain about Windows Vista was it’s editions. There are many editions of Vista and users has to make detailed research to decide on which edition to buy because many features changing between editions. Choosing which Windows 7 edition to buy will be more easier (still not that easy) than Vista. For netbooks, there is a Starter Edition, also for home users two Home Edition (Home Basic and Home Premium) and for professionals Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate Edition. There are no big differences between editions as in Windows Vista.
As you read this article, you may figure out something about Windows 7. As there are many reasons to migrate to Windows 7, there are also other many reasons to not considering migration. If you think about performance, Windows 7 will not disappoint you but also won’t boost your computer too. We recommend you to download RTM edition and check it on a non-production, backed up computer and decide after!
The last operating system from the software giant, Microsoft Vista, which was released worldwide on January 30, 2007, was created to improve the security of the most widely used PC operating system in the world. But, the securities features were not much better than the previous versions of Windows and also not compatible with a number of older PCs, which limited the number of users who were likely to upgrade. Now, the new operating system from the company, called as Windows 7 to hit retail shelves and start showing up on new PCs on October 22. The company has big expectations from the new software. According to Microsoft, the companies which are already running Windows 7 include BMW, T-Mobile and Del Monte Foods.
The company also outlined discounts for corporate customers and marketing programs for the thousands of IT companies that resell and install Windows on its behalf.Pricing
The company priced the upgrade to Buy Windows 7 for $119 for Windows 7 Home Premium, $199 for Windows 7 Professional and $219 for Windows 7 Ultimate. Also, for the full retail products, the company charged $199 for Home Premium, $299 for Professional and $319 for Ultimate.Last week, the software giant had closed the deep discounts on its upcoming operating system pre-orders, which was started from June 26 and hiked the new upgrades to their suggested list prices. To convince new customers that there is no reason to delay buying a PC until Microsoft releases the new operating system, that is, October 22, Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard etc have called for free upgrades to the Microsoft Windows 7 OS who buy PCs pre-installed with the Windows Vista OS.Windows 7 upgradation
Various analysts predict that the utter failure with the Windows Vista operating system is now becoming a key selling point to generate interest in upcoming Windows 7.Yet, the news that attracted huge attention to all the new customers by a research firm that might focus on Microsoft’s upcoming operating system. In its survey, the firm predicted that 59.3% of companies have “no current plans” to use Windows 7 in their computers. That means six out of ten companies in a survey plan to skip the purchase of Microsoft Corp’s Windows 7 computer operating system, many of them to pinch pennies and others over concern about compatibility with their existing applications. Also, recent Gartner research notes state, organizations should wait for Windows 7 SP1 before migrating which they estimate at 12 to 18 months after the release of windows 7, as last Windows Vista’s experience was the bitter one. Migration will need to start well before the actual deployment, noting that standardized OS creation, app testing and performing a pilot test, which will take up to 9 months. After that they should move to the new operating system.Boon or Bane
At the first glance, the above findings might appear to undermine the market of the new operating system, but if 40% of the corporate or individual investors, as the report suggests, would upgrade to the Windows 7, then it would spark a much needed round of corporate buying, what company required. Also, the results of the survey may be less indicative as it was carried out four months before the planned release date of Oct. 22. So companies have not yet heard the marketing pitches Microsoft has planned for the launch. So, one cannot justify the research report till the actual sales figures or data figured out.Future Direction: After Windows 7
Also, Redmond giant is geared to initiate “one of the biggest launch waves” after Oct 22. Windows 7 will debut on Oct 22, followed by the shipping of Windows Server 2008 R2.
Following the release of these products, the next month will witness the release of Office 2010 and new versions of Windows Mobile, SharePoint Server and Exchange Server. This is pegged as the biggest launch wave in the history of software giant.
