I just received my upgrade disk for Windows 7. I want to upgrade from Vista, but in case something happends I don’t want to lose anything currently on my CPU. I have a 1TB external HD. What is the easiest and best way to back up everything in case something happends? Also, what is the difference between backing up or creating a recovery disk? What should I do?

i don’t think anyone can give me an exact amount because it hasnt been released yet but just a ballpark figure would be great as to what kind of discount they offer when upgrading to the (not released yet) windows 7 from windows xp… anyone know how around how much windows seven will cost before this discounted price…just another ballpark.

I’m thinking of buying a Windows Vista desktop computer with a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out. I hear many good things about 7, but I’m wondering… If I upgrade to 7 from Vista, will 7’s performance be worse, than it would be if you bought a computer with 7 already installed?
