Will Windows 7 Be Sold Installed On Computers After The Free Upgrade Period Has Passed?
Computer companies are offering free upgrades to Windows 7 for qualified computer purchases from now to sometime in January. After that period will Vista/XP continue to be sold on laptops, or will manufactuers update to 7 as well with their new comps?

Most should be on Windows 7 with everything by January. You might still find some things with Vista then that don’t get free upgrades, but they’ll likely be sold at a discount (unless Windows 7 flops for some reason and everyone demands Vista).
There should be a transition period from October to January as more-and-more things start having Windows 7 pre-installed and the Vista inventory gets cleared out.
Come January, you could even still see manufacturers bundle Windows 7 upgrades with Vista sales — it would just at that point be done by manufacturers themselves rather than via Microsoft.
They will probably use the latest version of Windows like they always have even more now with the bad rep Vista has had over the years.
Yes.
