Buy Windows 7

When Will Windows 7 Be Available On New Pcs? Is It A Big Improvement Over Vista?

I’ll be needing a new desktop soon. Should I buy now with the promise of a free Windows 7 upgrade? Or should I just wait until computers come with Windows 7?

The hardware won’t be much different, so it doesn’t really matter. If you buy one with Vista you will be able to perform an upgrade installation, which will keep your files and programs. If you buy one after Oct. 22 (the day Windows 7 is available), well, you will have a new computer with Windows 7.
It really comes down to when do you want/need a new computer.

Well it depends on how big a deal buying a desktop is for you really.
If you need one urgently, then i would buy now. They will only have from preinstalled from mid-october at the earliest, however one with a promiss of a free upgrade would be fine.
Windows 7 is a brand new build, and it won’t be available as an upgrade to vista (i.e, when you install vista, you will lose all your files -they need to be backed up-).
What im trying to say is, whether you buy now or wait til they have them pre-installed, either way your computer will be at factory settings

Windows XP was an improvement over Vista.
