When Will Windows 7 Be Available On Computers?
I need a new laptop but since Windows 7 is coming out soon I decided to wait. Does anyone know when computers with Windows 7 will be available? I’ve already decided with laptop I want but right now every computer I’ve found has Windows Vista but has a free upgrade to Windows 7. I just want it with Windows 7 to begin with.

October 22 is the official release date and the earliest you’ll find Windows 7 pre-installed.
You’re still likely to have a number of things with Vista and the Windows 7 upgrade for awhile even after that though.
The laptop you want may or may not be one that’s readily available with Windows 7 pre-installed starting October 22. If it’s a pre-assembled model (i.e., not something you customize to some degree) there’s an even greater likelihood it will already have something pre-installed on it and you’ll look at the upgrade route.
