Buy Windows 7

What Is A Good Amount Of Space To Partition Windows 7 7000 Build?

i have windows vista 64 bit, HP
im planning on downloading the build tommorow from microsoft
but i want to partition it and make WINDOWS 7 beta, my primary OS
“till the deadline”
Is the amount of space i allocate to the partition the amount of space i have to play with while im on that OS? because if it is, i might have to partition around 150 gigs for it. =/ just checking
Thanks! appreciate it!

Make a big partition so you can use. Its much better than vista so i think you will be on it more. Good Luck!

You can have a third partition to install and run your programs from, but I don’t really see the point. So yes, partition to the space you’ll use. Don’t run programs from the old Windows partition with the new installation of Windows. In other words, don’t click on .exe files from the install on the old partion with Windows 7.

Based on my installations, the Windows files takes up only 10GB, maybe even less. So 20GB or more should be sufficient. This figure has more to do with how many other programs (ex Photoshop, MS Office, etc) you are going to install on the partition. Remember, the partition size can be very easily adjusted later, so no need to worry too much about it right now.

The installation took 8.29GB on my drive.Just the windows and the antivirus ,nothing else. I’m not going to use a larger partition until the final release.
