What Do You Think Of Windows 7 Operating System?

For those of you who have been fortunate enough to try Windows 7. What do you think?
How is the driver model? Better than XP? Better than Vista?
How does it run on Quad Core machines? Duo’s? Single core?

I just installed it this morning, and i find it looks more like Vista, but much better. By the way, i am using Vista, and testing Win 7, on the same laptop. When the final release is out, i’m really going to ditch Vista.. Im really impressed with Windows 7, all the drivers that were Vista compatible all worked well with Windows 7. Even some ofv the drivers that had problems with XP and Vista seems to work with Windows 7.
I can’t tell that much about Quad Core’s and Single Core, but i think its great on Dual Core processors. I’m just using AMD Turion 64 X2 ~1.8 Ghz, and its not that processor-hungry like Vista, most of the time CPU usage is not above 1%.
I’m still using Vista, just because its a stable product, but i think, in its beta/RC stage, Win 7 is more stable than Vista.

I love windows 7, even in its beta form it beets my vista ultimate that I bought with service packs hands down. I’m running windows 7 on my dual core 3.6Ghz computer with 2 GB ram and it boots and works faster than vista, and it maby even boots faster than xp (well seems like it, IDK),
even in beta win7 is more faster and stable than vista and more compatible with stuff, and it looks great with its new omni-taskbar and launcher.
I’m not testing windows 7 anymore I’m now using it permanently as my new OS replacing my xp that I originally reverted to after vistas failure.

I had it on my computer, but it was too buggy for me, so I’m back to XP. It was bothering me because I’m using a wireless USB adapter and every time I tried to stream audio or video (i.e. youtube & pandora), I would lose my connection, not because of the signal, but because W7b was convinced that there were no connections present when there were..if I just unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in then it would recognize it again, but I could very seldom watch a video longer than 3 min.
I also had some other miscellaneous bugs like Firefox crashing a lot (which it NEVER does on XP), etc.
I’m on a HP Pavilion with a Intel single core processor, and I think that W7b ran faster on it than XP is right now, but it wasn’t worth the bugs. I did like the visual scheme on W7 a lot.
I haven’t tried Vista but from what I hear about it, I like Winows 7 better =P. It’s hard to say because it’s still in beta, but I think that the perception & quality of the W7 release will be much, much better than that of Vista.

  4. I’m testing it right now (the beta build 7000) and it worked great. I just installed all the necessary drivers like graphics card and sound card. I can say I’m never going back to XP or Vista until my copy expires. It’s fast enough and I use it as my primary operating system. The only problem is that some programs still don’t recognize the version windows has.

Windows 7 is looking to be very impressive. It’s designed to be able to run on netbooks so it’s very efficient. Definitely better than Vista (which is already better than XP ;)
To top it off, Vista drivers will work for Windows 7, so there will be almost no driver issues when upgrading.

  6. Well I think Microsoft is coming out with something good.
