How To Go Back To Vista After Windows 7 Rc?

I don’t want to have to do a clean install because I have a lot of stuff on my computer that I need. Is there any way to do the upgrade part instead? I have the actual Vista disk but every time I try to boot it, it says the upgrade part is disabled because it’s not possible with Windows 7.

the upgrade part is disabled because you booted the CPU with disc. boot up windows 7 RC then log in and then pop in the disc and run it from the desktop, then you can hopefully upgrade back to windows vista

people really need to learn to read when installing windows 7 … it clearly states that you cannot downgrade after you upgrade to windows 7. unfortunatly the only option you have is backup all your data and format fresh
EDIT: to the person below that posted that you can upgrade from 7 to vista (for one thing if anythign it would be called downgrading) … NO YOU CAN NOT
