How To Get My Computer To Boot From My Dvd For Installing Windows 7?

ok so i used poweriso and mounted the iso image of the windows 7 to a blank dvd. i have restarted my computer many times ans even changed the bios settings but it still wont even show the option to boot from the disk. please help!

  1. You need to burn the image to a DVD as-is and it should be bootable.
    Beyond that you’d have something to change with boot order, but on some computers you can simply even press a key like F12 to get a boot menu where you can choose during startup.
    Unless you’re trying to install on an empty hard drive or need the installation to do formatting and partitioning for you, you don’t need to boot from the DVD to install. You can simply load up your old OS, and run setup.exe off the disc, and you should be fine.

    If you used PowerISO, it’s more than probable that it didn’t create a bootable CD. PowerISO is fine for mounting and creating ISOs, but use IMGBurn/InfraRecorder to burn ISOs. They both are free.

    Are you sure you changed the boot order? You need to set your DVD player as boot #1. If that doesn’t work you did not burn the image correctly to your DVD.
