How To Create A Partition To Install Windows 7 Beta?

I’m looking to try it out, can anyone tell me how to create a new partition and install windows 7 on it? And maybe some detail on windows 7, does it update itself, will my vista drivers work on it? (its a laptop)
Thanks!

    Hi Myke,
My name is Ron, and I’m part of the Windows 7 outreach team. First, if you haven’t already, you’re going to want to grab your product key from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows…
Once you do that, check out the guide to setting up a dual-booting machine from Microsoft here: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows…
I used that guide when installing Windows 7 and things went beautifully. Now I’m picking through the Beta and seeing how things work out.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  2. Windows 7 is much better than Vista, I have been using Windows 7 for the past 3 months and i am still using it. just partition your disk as you do when installing Vista but the minimum required space should 6GB. Yes, it updates on its own, is very light and i have all my drivers working perfect fine(I am using HP dv6000 laptop).
try it out, if you have used Vista before, I think you would love to stay with Windows 7.

    Hi,
    Please do this :-
Go start > control panel > settings > admin tools > comp management then a window will show in the right hand panel, then click disk management then right click your drive then add > partition and now a wizard will open and correctly format and partition your new drive for you.
    This will solve you problems.
as for windows 7 beta it installed and run’s like a dream, and my system is 4 yaears old and had XP pro running.

    Try downloading GPartEd.

Use VMware instead of installing it locally to harddrive, it is still in beta form, but to answer your question, use acronis or partion magic.

  6. The Windows 7 Beta is no longer available for downloadhttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows…
