How Do I Fix My Messed Up Resolution On My Laptop Running Windows 7?
Hi I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 RC and my screen resolution is messed up. It only lets me go up to 1024×768.
I have a Dell Inspiron B120

The best I can recommend since Windows 7 is still in beta is either run a custom windows update and see if the driver is in the hardware category.
Or to run the Intel utility from the link below to see if it can locate suitable drivers.http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/de…
It takes a while for Windows 7 to incorporate all the default device drivers in one package. Check the Windows 7 update page once in a while and see if they already have already added an appropriate driver for your hardware. If not, try getting the latest driver version from Dell for Vista and hopefully Windows 7 would accept it.
Get rid of Windows 7. I’ve got a buddy who spent a lot on a wide screen monitor and Windows 7 forces him to a very low resolution (1280 x 720). The drivers aren’t out there. Same with your laptop.
The drivers not existing is one of the contributing factors as to why Vista is such a POS. If Microsoft doesn’t get their act together and open up the APIs, 7 isn’t going to be any better.
