Does Installing The Same Windows 7 Copy On 2 Computers Deactivate Previous Installation?
Does installing the same Windows 7 copy on 2 computers deactivate previous installation?
For example, if I install a legitimate copy of Windows 7 onto my PC and activate it, then use the same disk and key on another PC and activate it, will it deactivate my previous installation? Or will it not let me activate the 2nd one until I deactivate the previous one?

you’re aloud to install your copy of an os on a desktop pc and a laptop… but either way it isn’t really a problem couse normally a windows can be activated about 24 times if I remember this right.
You are only allowed to install it on one computer at a time, and you won’t be able to activate it on another until it is completely removed from the first. Additionally, you’ll need to call Microsoft and activate over the phone because internet activation will most likely fail. (since it thinks you are installing on multiple computers) The only exception is if you bought a volume license for a business or used a “family 3 pack” of Windows 7.
It wouldn’t deactivate the first installation. If anything it simply won’t activate on the second.
I believe you can call their phone activation if you’re trying to deactivate on the first and transfer to the second.
as per my understanding, you can install on a desk top and a laptop if they are owned by you. You can activiate one via online and another one, by calling.
So you have two copies activated. Both will work fine.
The answer to your question is “no” and “no”. But you will be in violation of your Windows license, and if the other computer connects to the Internet in certain ways, Microsoft will know about it.
No. I myself doing that and the activation works. Provide it is the current Windows 7 and not the official release in october.
