How Do I Keep My Programs When Installing Windows 7?
I want to install windows 7 onto my Acer aspire 6930g laptop, it is currently running vista. However, i would like to keep all my games and programs when i install windows 7… is this possible?
Basically… i want my computer EXACTLY the same but with windows 7 instead of vista
Please give my a simple walkthrough thank you!!!

You can only do an in-place upgrade if moving to the equivalent version of Windows 7 or to Ultimate.
In other words, you can’t keep your files, settings, and programs if upgrading from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional, for example.
If you’re doing something like moving from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium, just select the in-place upgrade option early during the installation and things will be moved over.
Do keep in mind that you should back up anything critical first just in case. In addition, a fresh install is recommended and can help prevent problems down the line.
So anyway, yes, it’s possible, and as long as you’re doing a supported upgrade path, you can choose the upgrade option during the installation.
I don’t think you can keep them. You will be erasing Vista and all programs will go with it. Hopefully, you have all the disks.
